The Glories of Minya Konka

As seen on National Geographic News, the autumn band of Milky way and the Zodiacal Light appear over Minya Konka, the highest mountain in Sichuan province of China, reaching 7556m high and claimed as the “King of Sichuan Mountains”. The title of the photo is a tribute to the world-famous explorer Joseph Rock, quote from his 1930th National Geographic article The Glories of the Minya Konka.” © Jeff Dai
