The Galaxy and Colorful Badlands

The summer Milky Way appears above Painted Desert Tee Pee in Petrified Forest National Park in Navajo and Apache counties of northeastern Arizona, named for its large deposits of petrified wood. The park includes semi-desert shrub steppe and highly eroded and colorful badlands. © Wally Pacholka
