Description

From the photographer: “The 3.5-meter telescope at the observatory of Calar Alto is currently being used to hunt for extrasolar planets. This incredible telescope dominates the landscape in the area and is the perfect model to capture the rising Milky Way observable during March just before sunrise. As a bonus this year we have the majestic Jupiter right in the middle of the most famous part of the Milky Way and Saturn just below the band.”

Technical details: Canon 6D ISO 6400, Samyang 24mm f2.0. Stacked composite of 5×10 sec.
