The Castle Night

Starry night of Girsberrg castle. Stars of Taurus and Pleiades (the Seven Sister Cluster) are visible at left, while Mars is at upper limit of the image. Just above the castle comet Holmes is barely visible. The photographer used a Canon 350D camera 16mm fish eye lens and 30 seconds exposure at 1600 ISO. Girsberg Castle lies north of the village of Ribeauvillé in the Haut-Rhin province in France. The area is also known as the Southern Alsace.
