Description

Mount Teide volcano on the island of Tenerife, Canaries, at night. The landscape of the Teide National Park, a World Heritage Site, is illuminated by the moon. A full blooming Tajinaste flower (an icon of Canary Islands) appears in the foreground. In the sky Cassiopeia and Andromeda are on the right, Polaris is above the volcano and Big Dipper is on the left. The Pico del Teide is a 500,000 years old volcano, 3718 m high which makes it the highest in Spain. It is approximately 7500 m above the floor of the Atlantic Ocean which makes Teide the highest point on this Ocean.
