Description

Telephoto image of the 2014 supermoon rising above the Fire Tower in the historic town of Veszprem. On the tower’s top is the symbolic from known as the Coat of arms of Hungary. The term “supermoon” describes a full moon that coincides with perigee (closest to the Earth). Although the supermoons hold the records for the largest apparent moon size each year but contrary to what the word might resemble, the angular size of the moon does not change that much. Compared to other full moons they are not noticeably different to inexperienced eyes. © Tamas Ladanyi
