Description

From the photographer: “ Captured on June 14, 2022 from Ancient (Palaia) Epidaurus in Greece. June’s full moon is called “Strawberry” full moon. The name strawberry moon is rooted in the traditions of Indigenous groups in the Northeastern US, including the Algonquin, Ojibwe, Dakota and Lakota communities that saw the celestial event as a sign that strawberries, and other fruits, were ripe and ready to be gathered.

In order to capture this event, I went down the beach and did some scouting to find the best composition. I didn’t have enough time, because I arrived relatively late, so I ended up with this composition, in which I’ve included a part of the rocks of the beach and a yacht as a foreground and with the moon placed at the background.”
