From the photographer: “After a 2-decade-long search, China astronomers have determined a new observatory in Ali, Tibetan Plateau. The world Astronomical community thinks it will be Asia’s Mauna Kea. Now, China National Astronomy Observatory, Ali government and the International Dark Sky Association – Beijing are creating a dark sky reserve area around here together. On July 25, 2014, the author visited the observatory site of Ali at an altitude of 5200 meter and took the photos of splendid starry sky.”
