Star Trail Above the Roman Sumps
Description
A photo composite of multiple exposures. From the photographer: “This image shows the rising of the stars taken at dawn at the site of the Roman baths along the Syracusan coast. To highlight the shape of these ancient tanks dug into the rock and used for the production of lime, I used red torches to remember the fire that burned here. The brightest trace that rises on the horizon is the Moon while the white stripe on the horizon are the boats that passed along the coast.”
Technical details: A timelapse sequence of several hundred shots, each 13 sec.
