Description

While most of the country is waking up after the frozen weeks, in the mountains, there are still different conditions reminiscent of winter. Within the Low Tatras mountains in Slovakia, the arrival of spring can be detected by the night sky appearance. And with the Milky Way core from the northern mid-latitudes, spring definitely has to begin. Despite that, the image was taken during cold -14°C winter night with perfect sky conditions, just before the dawn. The beautiful core of our Galaxy is surrounded by hydrogen regions. Thanks to the astronomical H-alpha filter, a lot of splendid structures appeared in the image.
