Description

A rock climbing shelter glows warmth and protection on this historically popular climbing route of Mt Hood, Oregon. A rising moon feels like a cold sun casting bright light in the high elevation, crisp winter air, and reflective icy snowfields. On a night like this, no headlamp is necessary, but make sure to bring proper clothing as the temps dip below 0 Fahrenheit. It was fascinating to watch the sky and landscape change as the night began with no moon in the sky and then by 1am this spotlight rose over the mountain.
