Description

A clear evening in the iconic old main market of Trier, Germany. In this all-sky view the International Space Station is crossing the sky. A sequence of photos is resulted in this image. The fast movement of the space station has caused little gaps in the trail because of a very short intervals between each frame. The fish-eye view has also captured the Moon in conjunction with Venus over the southwest. To their upper left is Jupiter right above Saint Gangolf church. To the right of the church a jet contrail is visible. Click on the second photo to see a longer exposure image that has captured the complete trail of ISS across the sky and another bright flashing satellite trail. Rests on the banks of the Moselle river, Trier is the oldest city in Germany, founded about 2000 years ago in the Roman era.
