Solstice Strawberry Moon
Description
The rising moon in June, reddened by the ocean haze, does actually look like strawberry! The month of June’s Full Moon is called the Strawberry Moon from a native American tradition. Photographed here on 2016 June 20 was also the fullmoon rising only 2 hours after the summer solstice, imaged from Boston’s Northshore with the Atlantic Ocean and boats near the shore of Marblehead, Massachusetts. © Babak Tafreshi
