Description

The partial solar eclipse of 4 January 2011 as seen during sunrise from a medieval village of Ujué in the province of Navarre, northern Spain. The eclipse was visible from Europe to North Africa, Middle East and central Asia. As noted by the photographer “I had to drive more than 300 km to find better weather, as forecasts were bad in general for Spain. I calculated the exact position of the rising sun over the village using Google Earth. Thus I was ready to take pictures from the time of sunrise.” © Juan Carlos Casado
