Simos Beach Galaxy

During my vacation on the island of Elafonisos, I had the chance to enjoy one of the most beautiful and environmentally rare beaches in Greece. Simos Beach and the entire island is designated as a Site of Community Importance of the NATURA 2000. The white wispy sand and the crystal clear waters are creating exotic scenery. Being out after sunset, we had the chance to capture the milky way rising above the beach during the astronomical twilight. Although, the milky way wasn’t the only element in the sky; A small meteor appeared close to the galactic core adding an extra point of interest in the scene and that’s because we’re approaching the Perseid meteor shower.
