Description

From the photographer: “On a cold winter night, the sky opens above a snowy landscape with the lights of the city of Catania illuminating the Sicilian coastline. In the sky, still lit by the last warm glow of sunset, three celestial bodies can be distinguished: Saturn, Venus and the Moon illuminated by the Earth. Saturn is positioned higher up, followed by Venus and finally the Earth-illuminated Moon, closer to the horizon.

The scene captures the beauty of the sky, tinged with turquoise, as it prepares to give way to night. The foreground is instead a natural setting typical of the volcano Etna. Strips of dark lava alternate with the whiteness of the snow, creating perspective geometries that seem to invite us to project towards infinity.”
