Description

A meteor streaks the northern sky during the annual Perseid Meteor Shower. Constellation Perseus, the radiant of the shower, appears on the right rising over the foreground tree. On the Earth is the old water ditch around the fortification of Saarlouis, a historic town located at the river Saar in Germany, close to France. Saarlouis fortress was built in 1680 by Vauban, famous military engineer who directed the building of many fortifications at the France important border points.
