Rotating Earth ᐉ
Description
In time-lapse videos and long-exposure images of sky what would happen if we track the stars and move the camera with the rotating sky? The result would be fixed sky and the rotating Earth in our view. This video is edited in a way to hold the frame stationary on the stars instead of on the earth as it was originally filmed). The time-lapse videos are made under starry sky of European Southern Observatory on Cerro Paranal, Chile. Paranal is one of the world’s best sites for astronomical observations and the location for the Very Large Telescope array. The four 8-meter diameter telescopes of the VLT are exploring the cosmos during the scenes of this film. The footage is taken by TWAN member Stephane Guisard and Jose Francisco Salgado. The music is Arcadia by Kevin Macleod.
