Rising Stars Above the Grand Canyon
Description
Landscapes under moonlight is exceptionally beautiful. Imaging at night I enjoyed many of the world’s wonders in this serene light. In this long exposure image (made from an hour-long timelapse sequence), bright winter stars in Orion and Taurus (with Pleiades at top) are rising with the Earth rotation. Down below is the longest canyon on Earth (277 mi, 446 km), carved by Colorado River in the past several million years. On the edge are gentle sky-friendly lights of the Grand Canyon Village. Reaching to the bottom of the canyon is the Bright Angel Trail, the most popular hiking trail into the Canyon that follows the footsteps of Indigenous Peoples, miners, and early explorers, as they descend into the canyon’s depths.
