Meteors appear over Mount Fuji during the peak of Quadrantid Meteor Shower in early January. Several photos selected from a photo sequence are digitally added to create this composite image of 6 meteors. Click on the second photo to see a single-exposure version of this image. The world-known natural symbol of Japan, Fuji is the highest mountain in the country that reaches 3,776m. It is one of the Three Holy Mountains in Japanese culture. Mt. Fuji is a live volcano and last erupted about 300 years ago.
