Perseid Meteor over Hyrcanian Forest

A colorful meteor streaks out from the rising Perseus on the peak night of Perseid Meteor Shower in August. The setting moon shines on sleeping sheep and this ancient forest in the Alborz Mountains, northern Iran. Andromeda Galaxy is also visible near the meteor in wide-angle image. The Caspian Hyrcanian Mixed Forests are near the southern shores of the Caspian Sea, named after the ancient region of Hyrcania (wolf land).
