From the photographer: “This is the view from just outside of astronomer’s hotel (Residencia) at ESO Paranal observatory in Atacama desert, Chile. When you step out of the hotel at night, you’ll be amazed by the stunning view of the starry sky! I took this image at the moment when Milky Way was culminating above the pathway to the hotel. The fence around aligned just perfectly.”
