From the photographer: “Moon at 97% and the Sanctuary of ‘Our Lady of the Incarnation‘. A photo I’ve been wanting to take for years and last night finally found the perfect spot and alignment, 1.3 km away, exactly at 10:43 pm. Fortunately, the clouds opened up just enough to let the moment happen as it needed to. Built in the 16th century and sitting on a hill, this chapel has long been a landmark overlooking the city of Leiria, in Portugal. Known for its panoramic views and iconic staircase.”
