Description

From the photographer: “The constellation Orion rises over a camp located on one of the huge alluvial fans lining Death Valley’s western edge. Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky (as seen from Earth), appears above and to the left of the tent’s crest. The waning moon, a couple of days past full, had risen a few hours before, and was illuminating veils of clouds which were drifting overhead.”
