Description

From the photographer: “The sensational solar activity in the days from 10 to 13 May gave us beautiful auroras worldwide. My photo was taken at around 1.50 am on Monday 13 May 2024, when the maximum was already clearly fading. From the viewing platform of a high tower, there was a clear view of the Baltic Sea and the island of Hiddensee. The bright light near the centre of the image comes from the lighthouse. The brighter areas further to the left on the horizon come from the lights of the cities of Copenhagen and Malmö.”
