Description

Following a solar storm that reached the Earth magnetic field, aurora borealis fill the night sky over the northern Canada, near the town of Yellowknife, known as an aurora watching destination. From the photographer: “The aurora oval was enlarged so I could only see the red edge over the southern horizon. It was the best red color I have ever seen in an aurora display.” Click the second photo to see an aurora corona (crown) forming overhead in the same night.
