Normandy Panorama
Description
This 300° wide panoramic view from the cost of Normandy in western France extends from Canis Major and Orion (on the left) to Bootes and Virgo (on the right) with Taurus and Cassiopeia between them. The photographer was above the famous cliffs of Etretat. The natural arc on the left behind the church is known as Porte d’Aval. The concrete arch is part of the memorial dedicated to two pilots who disappear in the ocean after an attempt to fly above the North Atlantic ocean in 1927. Note below left to the W-shape figure of Cassiopeia. The yellow light dome above the sea comes from London and its suburbs, some 200km away, across the English Channel. The brighter light dome on the right end comes from closer inland towns.
