Description

The strange bright clouds in this evening view of Novocheboksarsk in Russia are the mysterious noctilucent clouds. They are most often seen at latitudes of 55 to 65 degrees north during July and the corresponding latitudes in the southern hemisphere. Also notable in this image are the crescent Moon and Pleiades star cluster (above the church).
