Description

From the photographer: “This image was taken at Painted Hills, Oregon, near the end of the 2 hour window of the 2007 Aurigid meteor shower. Successive 30 second exposures were taken throughout the two hour window and this single frame is the only one that showed a meteor. It is possible that this is some of the remnant dust left behind by comet Keiss (C/1911 N1) when it passed near the sun in 1911 – the source of the annual Aurigid meteor shower.”
