Description

I love the moment when rising moonlight first touches the distant cliffs. The faint light refracts through the densest part of our atmosphere, scattering into warm tones similar to those of a sunrise. Here we can see the clouds alight with yellow light as the waxing gibbous moon rises above Needles Overlook in Canyonlands National Park.

Taken with a Canon 5d Mark4 Rokinon 24 mm lens at f1.8 ISO 1000 25 second exposures. 10 exposures stacked for noise reduction using Starry Landscape Stacker.
