Description

What is happening in the Netherlands on this “day”? Nothing except that this is not during the day and we are not in Holland! We are in Sicily and this is a field of wild tulips that naturally grows near the town of Blufi on the slopes of the Madonie. I decided to visit the place again, taking advantage of the gentle lighting of the moon to highlight the beauty of this colorful field. In the meantime by doing a long exposure timelapse sequence, I let the stars draw circles around the polar placed above the snow-covered Madonie. On the right of the image is the town of Blufi while on the right is the Sanctuary of the Madonna of the Oil, so-called for the presence of a mineral oil source used in popular tradition as a medicinal ointment. It is difficult to express the beauty of this place. Every single flower is a tribute to the beauty of nature. Walking in the field was extremely difficult because it was necessary not to spoil the ephemeral beauty of a single flower. Moving and framing was really tiring but in the end the result I hope does justice to this wonderful picture of nature. Once again Sicily becomes a metaphor for the world and the sky reminds us that we are one people under one sky.

Canon 6D, 8-15mm lens, F/4, Iso 400, timelapse sequence of 30 sec exposures
