Description

Nothing is more exciting than the colors in which nature dresses up during autumn. A riot of yellows, oranges, reds and browns accompanied by the sweet scent of damp earth and wet leaves that in a short time will turn into fertile soil capable of feeding the life of our woods. And what is more fascinating than the autumn landscape taken under the stars? nothing in my opinion! And then it’s time to go to one of the darkest and most evocative places in Sicily: Lake Maulazzo on the Nebrodi and let the Moon make the autumn colors shine under a turquoise sky.

This is the scenario shown in this shot: a photograph that tells of the intricate intertwining of branches, of the brick-red leaves that withstood the gale winds that blew in Sicily in the first days of November. The sky is blue but not so bright that it obscures the view of the stars. And here on the left you can see Orion rising on the edge of the wood that surrounds the lake. With it, the stars of Taurus, preceded by the Pleiades, rise in the sky. The moon shines with all its gentle glow and sometimes plays hide and seek with the clouds creating a beautiful moon halo. The leaves on the trees frame the scene perfectly and, shot against the light, they shine in a beautiful translucent red. Silence accompanies this moment and the soul is overflowing with wonder at this gift of creation; every effort is forgotten.
