Description

From the photographer: “The sky is tinged with shades ranging from purple to bright red, while a thin crescent moon appears on the horizon. In the last moments separating day from night, one of the most evocative windmills in the Stagnone stands out against the twilight, a silent witness to centuries of work and traditions linked to salt production. The water of the canal reflects the colours of the sunset and the light of the young crescent moon, while nearby, a few boats return, disembarking tourists who have just admired the magic of twilight while sailing between Mozia and Isola Grande.

Imagine the silence, interrupted only by the lapping of the waves, and the intense smell of the brackish waters of the Stagnone. Imagine turning your gaze and observing the salt pans, where small grains of salt crystallise. This is the spectacle that envelops those who find themselves here: a landscape that combines nature and history. At a time when speed seems to dominate every aspect of life, the salt pans at sunset remind us that a balance between human activity and nature is possible.”
