Moon and the Temple of Poseidon
Description
From the photographer: “If you find yourself in the region of Attica, one of the most worth-visiting sights is the Temple of Poseidon on Cape Sounion. The temple was built around 400 BC and remains one of the greatest landmarks and one of the most photographed places in Greece.
This was my go-to location for capturing June’s full moon (a.k.a. the “Strawberry Moon”) rising behind the Temple of Poseidon. I was aware from the beginning that the images I was going to capture would not differ from the thousands captured already here. However, the seagull that decided to fly in front of my lens proved me wrong. It was the key element that I couldn’t have known I needed.”
