Description

From the photographer: “Jupiter Venus and Moon from Purana Quila (Old Fort), New Delhi. The octagonal building in foreground has a bit of astronomical history; Humayun – a mughal emperor in India, was an astronomer, one evening he was trying to locate Venus in the evening dusk when he heard the muezzin’s call for evening prayers, he rushed and fell down the stairs to his death (a few days later). The octagonal building was the library of Humayun. Presently there is a large fort in ruins around this building, with plenty of gardens around. It’s a beautiful place to hold sky observations in the middle of New Delhi.”
