From the photographer: “This is the summer Milky Way over Herbert Lake, in Banff National Park, Alberta, near Lake Louise. Mount Temple is the glacier-clad peak at left. This is a single exposure of 40 seconds at f/2.8 with 16-35mm lens and Canon 5D MkII at ISO 1600. There was no Moon – this was taken in late twilight and is one frame from a time-lapse series.”
