Description

From the photographer: “Because I live in a light-polluted area that in addition is very close to Athens (the capital of Greece) I haven’t ever tried to capture the milky way in this area. Last week, I went to a beach close to my hometown, to capture a star trail image, when I realized that I was able to see the milky way. I immediately pointed the camera that way and gave it a try. Surprisingly, despite the waning gibbous moon that was in the sky and the heavy light pollution, I managed to capture the milky way rising behind the mountains in the distance!
Next time, probably, I’ll try to shoot the milky way at the same spot during twilight or during a crescent moon.”
