Description

A skyglow filter is used to cut light pollution and reveal the nebulosity.

We are located on the shores of Lake Biviere di Cesarò in the Nebrodi park. The view is breathtaking and ranges from the nearby hills covered with beech woods with bare branches to Mount Etna which rises exactly in the distance above the lake. The sunset has ended and the astronomical night has just begun. The sky is covered with stars and it is still possible to observe the beauty of the winter Milky Way that extends like an arch to the right of the lake. Even more splendid is the zodiacal light that stands out from the horizon at the center of the arc to touch the planet Mars and the Pleiades. Many other deep-sky objects are visible such as the Andromeda Galaxy just above the horizon and the nebulae of the Orion constellation.
