Midsummer Midnight

A huge pile of basalt rocks is stretching over the slopes of Mount Schafstein in the central Germany’s mountain range of Rhoen. The panoramic photo is taken at midnight in midsummer, when the nights at 50-degree latitude are not entirely dark and the cast of blue-purple deep twilight appears across the sky in a long exposure image.
