Description

Two colorful meteors appear on a single-exposure photograph of 15 seconds during Geminid Meteor Shower on Dec 13/14, from Badwater basin in Death Valley National Park, a dark designated park. The faint winter Milky Way appears next constellation Orion and bright star Sirius. The glow on the horizon comes from Los Angeles, about 150 miles away. The brighter meteor is a fireball. They are dazzling meteors (brighter than planet Venus). While most regular shooting stars are formed by tiny sand-grain size objects, the much less common fireballs are made by walnut-size or larger objects which may reach the ground as a meteorite.
