Description

The Full Moon rises over the Lake Monona and Wisconsin Capitol in Madison, USA. As noted by the photographer “This is not a photoshopped fake, nor is the result of the moon illusion. The exaggerated size of the moon relative to the capitol is due to my distance from the capitol dome, and my use of a very long telephoto lens. My preferred location is on the west shore of Lake Mendota about four miles from the capitol dome. Catching a moon rise in the immediate vicinity of the dome can be calculated with the help of astronomy software, and as a result, I journey there about 3 or 4 times a year to catch the action. I’m still hoping for the definitive shot of the Moon rising directly behind the dome.”
