Lunar Halo on the Shores of Lake Maulazzo

From the photographer: “This photograph collects the autumn suggestion of a night illuminated by the moon and spent on the shores of Lake Maulazzo. The lake is calm and its surface is disturbed only by the slow movement of some leaves which enrich the serene water with green and amaranth hues. The Moon is reflected on its surface shining with multiple reflections while in the sky it is the protagonist of one of the most fascinating magic of the interaction of light with our atmosphere: the lunar halo. A magic circle that surrounds the Moon and which is formed thanks to the presence of small ice crystals in the clouds. All that remains is to slow down time and witness in silence the marvel that nature reserves for us.”
