Description

The Galaxy in the backdrop of lights, taken near midnight during the shortest night of the year (Summer Solstice) from Point Penmarch lighthouse at the Atlantic Ocean shore of Brittany, France. From the photographer: “Some thin cirrus clouds are diffusing the starlight and allow to spot their brightness and color. The cirrus are orange on the left because they reflect the light pollution, as on the right, they are dark because located above the ocean where there is no light. The bright point near the right edge is Saturn.” Click on the second photo to see a closer view of the summer Milky Way above the lighthouse.
