Description

From the photographer: “A venting fuel cloud from the launch of a GPS satellite captured in this wide-angle photo from Fairbanks, Alsaka. Click the second photo for a close-up image of the cloud. Around 9:23:45 p.m. local time, a tumbling satellite or old rocket booster (much closer than the 12,427-mile-high cloud and totally unrelated, I suspect) passed right in front of it during this 4-second exposure.”
