Description

Early evening at Joshua Tree National Park, California, USA. As noted by the photographer “The Joshua tree actually isn’t a tree at all but is a giant yucca plant. They may grow as high as 40 feet and the trucks may reach four feet in diameter. Not having growth rings like a tree makes it difficult to determine the Joshua’s age but they are believed to surpass 700 years. Cap Rock -as photographed in this image- is a monzogranite stack of boulders, and a favorite destination for visiting climbers.
