Heavenly Fire and Terrestrial Fire

From the photographer: “The Milky Way flows across the sky aligning perfectly with erupting Etna. A story I have been trying to capture for several years, but to have the coincidence of finding the Milky Way vertically exactly when the volcano is in activity can only be described as a gift of nature.

A gift to be grasped, it is really the case to say, with fiery ardor…and never mind the sacrifices that need to be made to carry the equipment through paths as steep as they are impassable. What matters is reaching the rim of one of the countless craters now extinct from which this formidable alignment can be admired! It is a gift to be valued at all costs to tell the story of the beauty of this unique land where the celestial fire of the stars meets the terrestrial fire of the volcano.”
