Description

Harvest Moon rise above Georgian Bay in Ontario, Canada (in the middle distance). The full Moon closest to the first day of autumn is often called the Harvest Moon. As noted by the photographer and potter artist “In 2006 the date was well into October, instead of the usual mid-September time. This full Moon was also at perigee, meaning that it was at its closest approach to Earth in its orbit, so it appears a bit larger than usual”
