Glimpse of Canopus at 37 Degrees North
Description
From the photographer: “The wave like sculpture is in the University of California, Santa Cruz, known as ‘the Squiggle‘. Looking into this startrails photos, one trail below sculpture, is surprisingly the second brightest star in the whole night sky, Canopus. It is located at -52°42′ declination and rises up no more than 1 degree above the horizon even with the help of atmosphere refraction.”
Technical details: A photo-composite using Nikon D750 with Zeiss 135 lens, at f/10, iso 400, 30s single frame, 30mins stack
