Description

From the photographer: “In the first days of 2014, an enormous sunspot appeared on the Sun which was actually composed of over 60 individual sunspots. The largest of them is several times bigger than planet Earth. The Active Region was so large that it could be seen with the naked eye (using a solar filter to attenuate the Sun’s intense light). On Jan. 06, I photographed -through a telescope- the Sun setting behind some of the rugged peaks of the Chiricahua Mountains in the southern Arizona.”
