Gemini South
Description
In this long exposure image the southern stars trail around the South Celestial Pole above the Gemini South Observatory. Gemini Observatory consists of two 8-meter telescopes in northern hemisphere (Hawaii) and southern hemisphere (Chile). Gemini South is located at over 2700 m elevation on a mountain in the Chilean Andes called Cerro Pachón.
